Not so true.
Every week we find new and good food, so we can unanimously say it's not only Ba Kut Teh or seafood here in Klang. We are still exploring. Imagine our thrill when Rebecca decided to come over. It was time for us to bring her to eat any thing other than Ba Kut Teh!

Stop #1 - Noble House Seafood
Corner lot restaurant |
This, is our new found dinner place! I chanced upon reviews of this restaurant when a friend commented on facebook saying that they sell great Oyster Mee Suah and Tapioca Noodles.
Oyster Loh Mee Suah RM 17 for Small (Serves 2 - 3 people) |
True enough, the mee suah had a soft and smooth texture and it's soup was tasty - just right, not too strong a taste. The dish felt warm like home and was very satisfying.
Chi Hun Gen / Tapioca Noodles RM 18 for Medium (Serves 3 - 4 people) |
The stir fried tapioca noodle called chi hun gen, was very appetizing. It's unlike char kuey teow where you get an oily feel in your mouth with its noodles cut short and clumped together. These tapioca noodles were short and chewy, but did not taste like flour like pan mee. Every bite called for another mouthful!
Dong Po meat with Mantou 0RM 20) |
We also tried their dong po meat with mantou. Served hot, the meat was soft and not too salty. It did taste a little bland when put with mantou, but it was still good.

Stop #2 - Restoran Hoo Bee

Best Tangyuan in Klang! |
It's a chinese kopitiam selling myriads of foods. This tangyuan stall in particular, managed by an elderly lady sells the best tangyuan in klang as claimed by many Klang residents. It was not a busy day but we had to wait for 20 minutes for our order to arrive.
Glutinous rice ball with peanut filling |
A whiff of its ginger soup could make us salivate, what more, when drinking it. The broth was spicy and sweet with a strong background taste of pandan leaf and ginger. The glutinous rice ball had a skin not too thick and sufficiently chewy. Its peanut filling was finely grounded with a tinge of coarse pieces of nuts. Overall, the tangyuan was a good package with its soup not seeping through its skin making a good mixture of moistness and dryness in my mouth.

Stop #3 - Fruity Bakery
We were so hopeful to have their 6-foot long apple strudel (very famous!) for dessert but very unfortunately, they were sold out by 8pm. So we bought their cream horn and custard croissant. These pastries did not mend our disappointed taste buds :(

Stop #4 - Coffee Ink
Decor of Coffee Ink |
Great drinks selection |
This is pretty much the only coffee place that I know of in Klang. It's cosy with a very artistic interior and super friendly staff.
The fair lady with pastries from Fruity Bakery |
We were too full so the only drink we ordered was The Fair Lady. It's a white chocolate based drink that I would recommend to anyone who's looking for something sinful but not too sweet! Coffee Ink is currently expanding their premises to the adjacent lot. It's starting to look very pretty and we had a jolly good photo-taking session there!

With so much done within a night from 7pm to 10pm, we were definitely overfed. Oh wells, there's just too much good food around here in Klang!
